If an older article is available in the library in compact shelving, you are free to retrieve it from the shelf on the second floor and then either photocopy or scan the pages that you need.  Bound volumes of periodicals cannot be checked out of the library, but you can use it for as long as you need within the building.

If the article is available in microfilm, you can retrieve the microfilm yourself from the microfilm room and then use the microfilm readers that are available on the first floor. With our microfilm machines you can print the pages of the article.  Using this old technology can be intimidating to those not accustomed to it, so feel free to ask for help from the Reference Desk.
